VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A swimming advisory was lifted Friday morning for the entire Virginia Beach Oceanfront.
Lab results show bacteria levels now meet state quality standards, and signs were removed from the beachfront. The Public Health Department said it is safe for people to get in the water.
A swimming and wading advisory was issued Wednesday from 22nd Street to 70th Street due to high levels of bacteria. Thursday, the advisory was lifted for the stretch of beach between 37th Street to 70th Street.
The Public Health Department said recreational beach water is sampled weekly during the swimming season.
