Crews control fire at Naval Station Norfolk building

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Fire broke out in a building at Naval Station Norfolk, adjacent to Hampton Boulevard, Friday night.

According to Navy spokesman Terri Davis, a fire alarm in building CEP 201 was activated around 6:45 p.m., and when firefighters arrived on the scene, they found black smoke and fire coming from the building.

The Norfolk Fire Department had the fire under control in about five minutes, and no one was injured, Davis said.
