Pasquotank prison staff member investigated for misconduct

PASQUOTANK COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) — Sheriff’s deputies in North Carolina are investigating a claim of misconduct between personnel at the Pasquotank Correctional Institute and an inmate.

Pasquotank County Sheriff Randy Cartwright said that on August 8, a staff member of the state prison reported to authorities that another staff member had inappropriate conduct with an inmate.

The sheriff said no one was injured and no arrests have been made. However, he said the report is currently under investigation.
