SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – The Southampton County Sheriff’s office is asking for help finding whoever stole expensive lawn mowers from a business in Ivor.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, between 9:15 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. Sunday, seven zero-turn Husqvarna lawn mowers were taken from Crawford’s Small Engine and Equipment located on Route 460.

Investigators said entry was gained through a chain link fence that surrounds the building. Security footage showed the lawn mowers being driven down Route 460 a short distance to another location, where they were loaded into a trailer.

The Sheriff’s Office said the suspect vehicle is possibly a white mid-1990s model F-series pickup truck, with four full doors and a long bed. The vehicle was seen pulling a white tandem axle enclosed trailer. There were two other suspect vehicles, the first of which appeared to be a white Dodge Charger, a 2011 model or newer. Deputies said the second vehicle could not be seen clearly in security footage.

According to investigators, both vehicles were seen traveling back and forth on Route 460 during the theft. The Southampton County Sheriff’s office said the second vehicle was eventually seen on camera picking someone up on foot.

Investigators said the total value of the seven lawn mowers is $31,500. The most expensive mower was valued at $8,400 and the rest averaged between $3,500 and $4,000.

If you have any information about the vehicles involved or the theft, call the Southampton County Sheriff’s office at 757-653-2100.
