HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Investigators say a fire this week at a Hampton home was intentionally set.
According to Assistant Chief Jeffrey Pereira with the Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue, the fire happened around 11 p.m. Sunday at a home in the 600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. When firefighters arrived on the scene, there were flames and smoke coming from the second floor and roof.
No one was in the home.
Pereira said two homes, located on either side of the structure, had damaged siding due to heat that radiated from the fire.
The Hampton Fire Marshal’s office determined the fire was intentionally set. Pereira said people were seen running from the house just before the fire was discovered.
