Video: Storm lights up sky in Hampton Roads

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — As a line of strong storms moved across the region Tuesday night, lightning lit up the sky above the Chesapeake Bay.

Super Doppler 10 Meteorologist said during one period of the storm, lightning strikes could be seen at a rate of every second to every six seconds.

WAVY viewer Don Sippel shared the footage of lightning above the Kempsville area in the video player above. Viewer Dan Mclain shared a shot of lightning from Croatan Beach.
