Police seek two men after house hit by gunfire

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Police in Hampton are looking for two men after a house was hit by gunfire last week.

According to the Hampton Police Division, the shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 6. Officers were called to the 400 block of Greenbriar Avenue about shots fired, and discovered the suspects had shot at and hit a home several times.

Police said there were people in the home at the time, but no one was hurt.

According to investigators, a verbal fight happened earlier in the day between the suspects and victim. Police said later in the evening, the suspects went to the victim’s residence and shot at it.

Two suspects were identified in connection with the shooting, 22-year-old Bradley Lamar Wright and 18-year-old Demetrius Xavier Benthall. Police said there are warrants on file for both suspects for one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling, six counts of attempted maiming and six counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
