CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WAVY) – It was media day in Charlottesville for the Virginia football team, and there was no avoiding the elephant in the room, and that would be the job security of head coach Mike London.
London is entering his fifth season as coach and has had only one winning season, that was in 2011. Last year’s team went 2-10, the Cavaliers worst season in 31 years. London has landed some heralded recruits, and they take the blame.
“We know coach London is on the hot seat,” running back Kevin Parks said. “We went 2-10, we made those silly mistakes, we made those turnovers, not Coach London, we feel the pressure, but we’re ready for it.”
Virginia opens the season against #7 UCLA.
