NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Police in Newport News are asking for help finding suspects wanted in connection to a Craigslist deal that ended with crime.

Holly McPherson with the Newport News Police Department said on July 27 around 9:30 p.m., a man advertising an Apple MacBook computer on Craigslist went to a Newport News man’s home after arranging to sell it to him. Police said during the transaction, the seller took off with the laptop – and the victim’s money.

Police said the suspect, pictured wearing blue shorts and a white t-shirt, fled in a red Hyundai with two other people, who were also captured on surveillance images.

If you have any information about what happened, or if you recognize the men, call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
