SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Two roads in Suffolk were blocked Friday morning because of a water line problem.
Crews told WAVY News a major water line into Portsmouth was almost shut off because of a break, located at Hall Avenue and Commerce Street in Suffolk. Both roads were blocked to traffic.
A public utility worker told WAVY News a contractor was working around the line when a piece of machinery got stuck.
Brian Foster, the Director of Utilities, said the leak was contained Friday, and their system is operating at a normal capacity. The permanent repair is scheduled to take place Wednesday.
