NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Norfolk Department of Public Health will be giving free immunizations and Tdap vaccines for rising sixth graders in the city.
Students have to get these immunizations before returning to Norfolk Public Schools in the fall, according to the city’s health promotion manager, Dwayne Merrit. So the city wants to make it a little easier — just show up at one of their free clinics with a valid photo ID, your child’s insurance card and shot record.
The free clinics will be held at two locations:
- Norfolk Department of Public Health, 830 Southampton Avenue, Monday – Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Little Creek Multi-Service Center, 207 E. Little Creek Road in Norfolk, Monday – Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and Monday -Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Another Tdap only clinic will be held from August 11 through August 22 at the Park Place Multi-Service Center, 606 W. 29th Street in Norfolk. The hours at that location are Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
