CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WAVY) – The 757 will be well represented this season for the Virginia football team.
Coach Mike London is hoping a slew of local blue-chippers will help turnaround a struggling Cavaliers team that lost nine-straight games to end last season.
One of the players is Taquan Mizzell from Virginia Beach. The player they call “Smoke” was a five-star running back at Bayside high school.
Mizzell is a very versatile player, he can run, he can catch and can return kicks.
“You look at the guys that can change a game in one play and he’s that type of guy,” London said. “He’s got that type of speed and athleticism.”
Virginia opens the season at home against UCLA.
