CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – Chesapeake Police say Bainbridge Boulevard reopened Thursday morning after a tractor-trailer hit an overpass a day earlier.

Kelly O’Sullivan with the Chesapeake Police Department said the accident happened on Bainbridge Boulevard at the Triple Decker Bridge. She said the tractor-trailer was a rental Sunbelt truck, and the driver sustained minor injuries. The driver was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

According to police, the tractor-trailer was hauling a bucket lift, which hit the overpass.

Bainbridge Boulevard was closed overnight into Thursday so crews could cleanup Hydraulic fuel from the bucket lift. It reopened to traffic Thursday morning.
