EASTERN SHORE, Va. (WAVY) – WAVY News 10 meteorologist Tiffany Savona says a waterspout was reported around noon south of Cape Charles.

There are currently no weather warnings in effect for the viewing area, and Savona said it appears the rotation has weakened.

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel closed all traffic as of 12:20 p.m. because of inclement weather conditions, but reopened less than an hour later.

Super Doppler 10 meteorologists were tracking Bertha earlier in the day as it weakened to a tropical storm. Meteorologist Jeremy Wheeler wrote Tuesday morning Bertha was about 200 miles ESE of Hatteras, N.C., and cautioned swimmers of an increase in waves in the area. Red Flags were flying at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Tuesday afternoon.
