SURRY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — A vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer has closed all lanes on Virginia Route 10 in Surry County Tuesday.
The crash happened around 3 p.m. at mile marker 64, just north of Smithfield, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Sergeant M. Anaya with Virginia State Police said the tractor-trailer overturned and hit a power pole. The incident only caused property damage, no injuries. Crews are working to remove the tractor-trailer and its cargo from the roadway.
In the meantime, all lanes — both east and west — are currently closed and expected to stay closed until late Tuesday or early Wednesday morning. Detours are in place in both directions; traffic is being diverted off Route 10 at Hog Island Road (Route 650) and Mantura Road (Route 627)
VDOT says drivers can expect delays.
