Two hurt when car crashes into VB McDonald’s

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Two people were hurt Friday when a car crashed into a McDonald’s restaurant in Virginia Beach.

Battalion Chief Tracey Freeman with the Virginia Beach Fire Department said the car crashed into the McDonald’s located at 601 First Colonial Rd. around 1:35 p.m.

Freeman said the driver was the only person in the car, and was not hurt. Two people inside the McDonald’s had minor injuries, and were taken to Virginia Beach General Hospital. Freeman said they were cut by glass that had shattered.

According to Freeman, the crash was an accident, and was not related to a medical issue.

The McDonald’s remained open after the incident.
