Motorcyclist dies on I-64 in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A motorcyclist died after a two-vehicle crash in Chesapeake Wednesday night, according to Virginia State Police.

Just before 5 p.m., troopers were called to the crash on Interstate 64 West at the Battlefield Boulevard exit, according to Sgt. Michelle Anaya. An investigation indicated a 2008 Hyundai SUV started slowing down for traffic, and a 2012 Kawasaki motorcycle that was following too closely crashed into it, Anaya said.

The motorcyclist, 27-year-old Brent Anthony Tilley was thrown from his vehicle, sustaining critical injuries. He was transported to Chesapeake General Hospital, where he later died.
