Man rescued from fishing boat in Pamlico Sound

PAMLICO SOUND, N.C. (WAVY) – A man was rescued from a fishing boat in Pamlico Sound Monday night after collapsing.

According to a news release from the Coast Guard, watchstanders received a call from the operator of the 70-foot fishing boat, Capt Ryan, around 11:20 p.m. reporting an 18-year-old man collapsed and had a seizure.

The Coast Guard launched a 25-foot Response Boat-Small, and the man was transferred onto the boat. He was taken to Station Hatteras Inlet.

According to the Coast Guard, the man refused medical treatment from awaiting EMS, and was met by family members.
