BALD HEAD ISLAND, N.C. (WAVY) – A pregnant woman was medevaced from Bald Head Island Monday.
According to a news release from the Coast Guard, watchstanders got a request for help around 2:50 a.m. stating the woman was experiencing pain and complications related to her pregnancy and needed medical attention.
The Coast Guard launched a 25-foot Response Boat-Small and picked the woman up. She was taken to Southport, and placed in the care of Southport EMS.
No information was released about her condition.
