SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A crash in Suffolk Saturday killed the driver of a pickup truck and closed part of Carolina Road.
According to a press release from Suffolk Police, just before 6 a.m. a man driving a Toyota Tundra pickup truck was traveling northbound on Carolina Road just before the Southwest Suffolk Bypass when the truck left the roadway and struck a culvert. The pickup flipped several times and the driver was ejected. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police identified the man as 26-year-old Kenneth James Wiggins of Hobbsville, N.C.
Both southbound lanes of Carolina Road between the 600 and 700 blocks are closed along with one northbound lane so police can investigate the crash and clear the roadway of debris.
