HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A woman was run over by a tractor-trailer in Hampton Friday afternoon.

The Hampton Roads Show co-host Chris Reckling was at a Stuff the Bus event at the Farm Fresh in the 2100 block of Coliseum Drive when he witnessed a woman with a walker caught under the tires of a 1992 Kenworth tractor-trailer.

Sgt. Jason Price with Hampton police said the 69-year-old woman was walking in the parking lot when she was struck. At the time, the truck was backing into a loading bay of the grocery store.

Price said the woman’s injuries were not life-threatening, but she was transported to a local hospital. Reckling said the woman was responsive as crews pulled her from under the truck. He said Nightingale responded to the scene.

Reckling said the truck is licensed to JJ Enterprises out of Edenton, N.C.

Police have not filed any charges in this incident, at this time.
