CHERITON, Va. (WAVY) – The stories from the Eastern Shore are compelling, as people share their stories of survival.
After a deadly tornado struck Cherrystone Campground Thursday, many who needed medical care were taken to Riverside Shore Memorial. Most of them were treated and released, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t have terrifying experiences.
One family of eight people was inside two RVs parked side-by-side when the storm hit. The family told WAVY News they had just bought their camper last week, and were using it for the first time.
WAVY News 10 photojournalist Kenny Becker gives us these accounts of survival.
