SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Earlier this month, two police officers in Suffolk saved a man’s life.
Officers Shane Sukowaski and Daniel Nesbitt got a call that a man was suffering from cardiac arrest, so they rushed to his home on Linden Avenue.
Once inside, the officers cut off the man’s shirt and strapped on the defibrillator. A quick shock later and the man started breathing again.
“Uh, you know, I thought about it. He had two kids. So, I was like, ‘well, you know, he’ll get to see his kids. His kids will have their dad around longer.’ So, that part set in, but it’s not something we look for the recognition for,” said Officer Sukowaski.
Both officers say they did get some recognition for their life-saving act. Members of the police department have sent emails congratulating them.
