CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – Part of Taylor Road in Chesapeake was closed to traffic Wednesday morning after a driver slammed into a power pole.
Det. D.M. Boykin with the Chesapeake Police Department said around 3 a.m., officers were called to Taylor Road for a single-vehicle crash. The 24-year-old driver told police he lost control of his vehicle, and crashed into a Dominion Virginia Power pole.
The pole snapped, and brought down power lines. Taylor Road, from Dunedin Drive to Peppercorn Drive, was closed to traffic Wednesday morning.
Boykin said the accident may have been the result of a medical condition, but that remains under investigation. There was no indication that speed or alcohol were factors in the crash, Boykin said.
