CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Chesapeake police are trying to identify two suspects after a man was robbed and cut with a pocket knife Wednesday night.
Around 9:20 p.m., officers responded to the 2700 block of Trade Street for a report of a robbery, according to Detective Dorienne Boykin with the Chesapeake Police Department. When they arrived, they spoke with a man who said he was robbed while using the restroom in a wooded area.
The victim told police he was picking up his tractor-trailer at the location, but first had to use the restroom. As he was in the wooded area, two unknown suspects knocked him to the ground, Boykin said.
The victim pulled out a pocket knife, but a suspect took it from him and cut the victim. After taking his money, the suspects fled on foot.
Boykin said the victim’s injury was minor and he was treated at the scene by medics.
The suspects are described as men wearing dark clothes and masks. They were over six-feet-tall and of a large build, weighing about 230 pounds each.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
