NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Medics transported a victim after a shooting at a Newport News apartment complex Tuesday afternoon.

Lou Thurston with the Newport News Police Department said officers responded to a shooting at the Aqueduct Apartments, located in the 13200 block of Aqueduct Drive, around 2:15 p.m.

Upon arrival at the scene, police found a man, possibly in his late teens, lying in a parking lot with a gunshot wound to his lower leg. He was transported to a local hospital with what appeared to be a non-life threatening injury, Thurston said.
