Newport News man charged in April rape case

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – After investigating the case for three months, police just made an arrest for an April rape.

According to police, the 19-year-old victim told officers she left work around 5 p.m. on April 17 and went to Daniel Baker’s home for a few drinks. She went to Riverside Hospital the next day and reported being raped.

Newport News Police investigated her claim and on July 18, they arrested Daniel Baker, 24, of Boulder Drive, on a charge of rape: victim mental incapacity/helplessness.
