YORKTOWN, Va. (WAVY) — A Newport News girl is doing her part to help other kids get the medical treatment they need.
Jordan Foster is only five years old, but her father told WAVY.com she saw ads about hosting lemonade stands for Anthem’s LemonAid for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and decided to participate. She held a fundraiser on Friday at the Farm Fresh on Route 17 in Yorktown.
Jordan’s father, Floyd, recorded a video of her as she manned the lemonade stand — click here to see the video. Floyd said Jordan raised $283.
According to the hospital network website, all funds raised locally support the hematology-oncology clinic at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters.
Jordan is a student at Ware Academy in Gloucester. Her father said she hopes to inspire others, as much as this project has inspired her.
