WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) – A man was charged with abduction after a domestic dispute early Saturday.

Major Greg Riley with the Williamsburg Police Department said officers responded to the 300 block of Penniman Road around 12:05 a.m. for a domestic dispute. When they arrived, the victim told officers her boyfriend tried to break into her apartment.

Police said the suspect had left the area, and investigators learned that both the victim and the suspect lived at the apartment.

The victim told police 57-year-old Nathaniel Dove, Jr. kicked her during an argument before she called police. A warrant charging Dove with domestic assault was obtained.

Officers were called to the same residence again around 3:25 a.m. for another domestic incident. Riley said Dove did not allow the victim to leave the apartment when she tried. Dove was taken into custody, and a warrant charging him with abduction was obtained.

Police did not release any additional details.
