Teen struck by vehicle on Thorncliff Drive

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – A 15-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle Saturday evening.

According to Newport News Assistant Public Information Officer Donald Watt, police and fire personnel were dispatched at 6:31 p.m. to the intersection of Warwick Blvd. and Thorncliff Dr. for the accident.

The teen was attempting to cross Warwick Blvd. where it intersects with Thorncliff Dr. when he was struck by a 2001 Ford SUV being driven by a 26-year-old Newport News woman.

The SUV was traveling north on Warwick Blvd. at the time of the accident.

The teen is being transported from the scene by Nightingale helicopter with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the SUV was not injured.
