Red flag warnings in place in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Red flags went up Friday morning in Virginia Beach, warning swimmers about potentially dangerous conditions.

According to Tom Gill, Deputy Chief with Virginia Beach Lifesaving Service, the flags are up for precautionary reasons due to big surf and northeast winds that will increase the chances for rip currents.
