NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A former Navy SEAL accused of stealing government property was sentenced Friday to 16 months in prison.
In February, David Karl Becker, 24, pled guilty to theft of government property.
At the time, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Becker had taken a plea agreement. The statement of facts said Becker tried to sell military property online through an outdoor equipment auction website.
All of the items, which included grenades, gas masks and ammunition, were taken from Becker’s Navy command.
According to Deanna Warren with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Becker was sentenced Friday to 16 months in prison, three years of supervised release, $1,525 in restitution, no fine, and $100 special assessment.
