Serial armed robber wanted in Chesapeake, Va. Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Police are looking for a serial armed robber who they say may be tied to at least nine incidents in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach.

Tonya Borman with the Virginia Beach Police Department said the robberies began Feb. 11, and the suspect shares similarities in behavior and description. Borman said in all but one of the cases they are investigating, the suspect went into a business armed with a handgun and demanded money.

Police said in one of the cases, the suspect confronted someone who was sitting in a car in a parking lot. Wednesday night he did something else brazen for a change.

“The suspect walked into the establishment while two other customers were in there,” Borman said. “He may be becoming more brazen because he’s gotten away with it in the past. We’re reaching out to WAVY-TV 10. We’re asking you to ask your viewers: if you recognize this individual, call the Crime Line. We do need to get him caught.”

The same susp O’Sullivan witect is believed to be responsible for two similar robberies in Chesapeake. Kellyh the Chesapeake Police Department said the BP gas station, located at 945 Battlefield Blvd. North, and the Exxon gas station, located at 1102 S. Military Hwy., were targeted.

No one was hurt in any of the incidents.

The suspect was described by police as a male with a medium complexion, about 5’8” tall, weighing about 160 pounds. His race is unknown.

In the July 16 robbery, the suspect wore a dark blue zipper hoodie over a black hoodie that had a multicolored lining, a multi-colored scarf covering his face, gray sweatpants, a white baseball hat and tan work boots.

  • 06-24-14 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Parking Lot, 6084 Indian River Road
  • 07-16-14 at approximately 9:20 p.m., Gulf Station, 6029 Indian River Road
