Overturned dump truck causes delays in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – An overturned dump truck is caused delays for Hampton drivers Thursday afternoon.

According to a tweet sent out by the Hampton Police Division, officers were called to the scene just before noon in the 100 block of Marketplace Drive.

It is unknown if anyone was hurt in the accident.

In the tweet, police told drivers to expect heavy congestion near the intersection of West Mercury Boulevard and Power Plant Parkway. They said traffic headed eastbound at West Mercury Boulevard was backed up to Aberdeen Road, but moving.

Around 5 p.m., police said all roads were open in the area.
