NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Police have made an arrest in a Wednesday morning homicide on Jason Avenue and you may recognize the suspect’s name.
26-year-old Kareem Turner is charged with murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in connection with the death of Dajuan Glover.
Officers were called to Jason Avenue, near Hancock Avenue around 4:40 a.m. Wednesday and arrived to find Glover suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.
Investigators arrested Kareem Turner the next day. He is being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond and declined to talk to WAVY News 10.
Turner was previously charged in the murder of Norfolk Police Officer Victor Decker, but prosecutors later withdrew those charges and Turner was released from jail this past March.
Glover’s girlfriend said the victim was a good person who did not deserve to die. She said she did not know Turner.
Virginia Beach Police said officers were aware of Turner’s arrest and continue to investigate Decker’s murder. Macie Pridgen, with the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, said prosecutors had not received any new information about the case since Turner’s release, but would review any new evidence that became available.
