JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – A lightning strike during Tuesday’s storm knocked out telephone service at James City County Satellite Services, Emergency Management and Virginia Cooperative Extension offices.

911 lines and the County website and email addresses were not affected; however, credit card transactions cannot be processed due to the lack of telephone service, according to a news release posted on Facebook.

Service is expected to be restored Thursday, July 17.
