Man transported after Norfolk shooting

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Detectives in Norfolk are investigating a shooting that injured a man Tuesday afternoon.

Norfolk Police received a call for shots fired in the 9500 block of 21st Bay Street just after 4 p.m. Moments later, they received a second call about a gunshot victim in the 2700 block of East Ocean View Avenue, according to Cpl. Melinda Wray with Norfolk police. Officers located a man suffering from a gunshot wound at the second location.

The man was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives and the department’s Forensics Unit were still at the scene around 5 p.m. Cpl. Wray said the two scenes are believed to be related.
