Tides cap sweep of visiting Gwinnett Braves on Sunday

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Pitcher tyler Wilson earned his second win of the season, and the Norfolk Tides won their fifth straight game with a 2-1 win over the Gwinnett Braves on Sunday afternoon. The victory capped a four-game sweep of the Braves at Harbor Park.

Wilson, a former University of Virginia pitcher, gave up 5 hits, but only one earned run and struck out six batters in seven innings of work. Brock Huntzinger and Evan Meek were both perfect and struck out a combined three batters in the last two innings to preserve the win.

The Tides are off until Thursday, when they return to Harbor Park against Rochester.
