VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Beach police almost had to use spike strips to pull over a driver accused of DUI Friday night.
Around 7:40 p.m., a vehicle was traveling at a slow rate of speed down Aragona Boulevard and officers suspected the motorists to be driving under the influence, according to MPO James Cason with the Virginia Beach Police Department.
A witness told WAVY.com they saw five police vehicles pursue a green sedan down Aragona Blvd., across Haygood Road, and onto Crossborough Road.
Officers were preparing to use spikes, if needed, to stop the vehicle. However, they were able to get the driver to stop without incident.
Cason said the driver was arrested for DUI.
