YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — York County fire units were sent to a restaurant Monday night.

A 911 call came in to dispatch around 8:10 p.m. for smoke inside the Golden Coral at 218 Bypass road, according to Assistant Fire Chief Paul Long. He said there was an electrical short at a transformer near where the power comes into the building.

There was no actual fire, but fire units stayed at the scene until Dominion Virginia Power arrived and disconnected the power.

Crews with the Williamsburg Fire Department also responded. The scene began to clear around 9:15 p.m., Long said.

No further information has been released.
