Amber Alert issued for missing Pittsylvania Co. teen canceled

PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – An Amber Alert issued Saturday for a missing Pittsylvania County teen has been canceled after he was found safe.

The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office issued a release stating that 15-year-old Dustin Shaver, of the Long Island community, went missing during the morning hours on July 7 from a home located in Hurt, Va. where he had spent the night with an approved guardian prior to his disappearance.

According to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, information obtained during their investigation has led Investigators to believe Dustin may be in the company of Kevin Scott Parrish, Denise Michelle Shaver, and Kayla Michelle Hoy.

Kevin Parrish and Denise Shaver were taken in to custody by police and charged with abduction.
