No injuries reported in fire at Norfolk church

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – No injuries were reported Friday when a fire sparked at a church in Norfolk.

Battalion Chief Julian Williamson with Norfolk Fire and Rescue said the fire was called in around 4 p.m. at Norfolk Evangelical Church, which is located at the corner of West 28th Street and Granby Street.

Williamson said the small fire was on the church’s second floor. No one was inside at the time, and no injuries were reported.

A concerned citizen called the fire in, according to Williamson.

No information has been released about the fire’s cause.
