Man robs dollar store with stun gun

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Newport News Police need help identifying a man who robbed a dollar store Friday morning.

The robbery happened around 9:30 a.m. at the Family Dollar located at 5101 Jefferson Ave. Holly McPherson with the Newport News Police Department said the suspect brandished a stun gun and demanded money from the register. He was able to flee on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He is described as a black male standing 5’1″ to 5’2″ with a thin build and mustache. He was wearing a black v-neck shirt, jeans, white shoes and a checkered ear flap hat at the time of the robbery.
