VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Two juveniles were arrested and charged after an assault over the Fourth of July weekend at the Oceanfront.

Tonya Borman with the Virginia Beach Police Department said officers were called to the 900 block of Pacific Avenue, near Norfolk Avenue, around 2:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of an assault.

Investigators determined a verbal fight between the victim and two juvenile suspects and turned into a physical assault.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Borman said the two juveniles were both arrested and charged with malicious assault and curfew violation. Police also said alcohol appeared to be a contributing factor.

Other media outlets report the victim is Iraq War veteran Sean Dutrow, of Leesburg, Va. They report Dutrow is now recovering, with 17 stitches in his forehead.
