NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A tractor-trailer struck an overpass on Virginia Beach Boulevard in Norfolk Wednesday.
Sgt. Michelle Anaya with the Virginia State Police said the crash happened around 11:40 a.m. at the Interstate 64 overpass.
Officer Daniel Hudson with the Norfolk Police Department said traffic was getting by on the feeder road, but two eastbound lanes of Virginia Beach Boulevard were closed.
A Virginia Department of Transportation spokesperson said the right shoulder of Interstate 64 East was closed while they assessed damage to the overpass. VDOT anticipates this will affect traffic during the afternoon commute.
Shellee Casiello with VDOT said another vehicle crash happened on the overpass, on I-64, and the right lane of traffic closed temporarily. It has since reopened.
