E-ZPass Virginia warns of possible phishing scam

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Several customers have reported getting unusual emails claiming to be from E-ZPass Virginia.

Some customers are receiving emails that their tolls are in arrears and are asked to click on a link in order to download an invoice.

“You have not paid for driving on a toll road,” the email says. “This invoice is sent repeatedly, please service your debt in the shortest possible time. The invoice can be downloaded here.”

E-ZPass Virginia says this is a scam and the link should not be clicked on. Anyone who has questions about communications from E-ZPass Virginia can call 877-762-7824.

Any emails from E-ZPass Virginia will be from NoReply@ezpassva.com or customerservice@expassva.com.
