VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Wildlife officials released a Bald Eagle back into the wild in Virginia Beach Tuesday morning.
The big moment took place near the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center.
The eagle was found in Sandbridge in May and was unable to fly. The bird, believed to be around five months old, was said to be thin and dehydrated and was admitted to the Wildlife Center for rehabilitation. “It was raised by us in the company of other eagles so it’s fully aware that is an eagle,” explained Ed Clark, President of the Wildlife Center of Virginia.
