PD: Suspect swings knife at Wal-Mart employee during robbery

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Police are looking for two suspects who they say took several items from a Wal-Mart, and swung a knife at an employee.

Tonya Borman with the Virginia Beach Police Department said the two suspects went into the Wal-Mart located at 2021 Lynnhaven Parkway around 2 a.m. Thursday, and were seen putting several items into a shopping cart. The suspects then passed all the check out aisles and walked towards the exit.

As the suspects were walking out, Borman said one of the two turned to an employee who was following them, pulled out a knife, and swung at the employee. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction.

The Wal-Mart employee was not hurt.

Police described the first suspect as black, about 6’1” tall, weighing 220 pounds with red hair extensions. The suspect was also wearing an orange jacket, multi-colored pants and a white and red baseball hat with “Virginia Beach” written on it. Police did not know if the suspect was a man or a woman.

The second suspect was described as a black woman, about 25 to 29 years old, about 5’9” tall, weighing 200 pounds, wearing a floral dress and a hair band.
