Driver says van hit her vehicle, sent it crashing to tree

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Suffolk Police are investigating a report of a hit-and-run along a rural road early Tuesday morning.

Tim Kelley with the City of Suffolk told a driver reported to police she was traveling in the 1100 block of Kirk Road when a vehicle approached hers from behind before 1 a.m. That vehicle reportedly then side-swiped the driver’s side of her vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway and hit a tree.

Police were unable to locate the suspect vehicle, which was described as a white van. The van would reportedly have fresh damage to the passenger side.

Kelley said another driver reportedly witnessed the incident.
