Man killed in second deadly NN shooting in as many nights

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) Newport News police are investigating the second deadly shooting in as many nights after a man was found shot to death inside a home on Ridley Circle in the city’s East End.

Police officers responded to the 600 block of Ridley Circle for a shots fired call around 12:23 a.m. but the call was upgraded to a shooting inside a residence while they were en route.

When they arrived officers found 23-year-old Jamar Sherald Clarke of Newport News lying on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

According to Lou Thurston with Newport News Police, the suspect in the shooting is described as a dark skinned black male with a fade haircut and was wearing a black. A possible car the suspect may have been riding in is described as a white Ford Crown Victoria or Chevrolet with a push bumper on the front.

Early Saturday morning just over a mile from Ridley Circle, Michael Deon Robinson, 28, was shot and killed at the intersection of 22nd Street and Roanoke Avenue. No arrests have been made.

Investigators are asking anyone with information related to either shooting to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
